The musicians in The Metropolis Swing Quartet have many years experience playing and entertaining at all kinds of venues and events and we believe in a number of important principles regarding our work:

Professionalism: We take our work and your event seriously and that is why we promise to deliver a high quality service as well as high quality music. The music we play is constantly rehearsed and combines improvisation with carefully considered arrangements to keep the music fresh and exciting for your guests and clients.

Clear Communication: When you book the band we will agree a number of things with you such as the time you wish us to play, when you want breaks in the music and your preferred choice of our attire on the day. We will then send you a letter and contract confirming all these details. Of course if you have any changes you wish to make at a later date we can do that and things don't always go to plan on the day so we can be flexible to help make your event a success.

Appearence & Conduct: Whether an informal event or formal function we take pride in dressing appropriately, be it black-tie or lounge suits and act with decorum and respect for you as our "employer". We will also make arrangements with venues to ensure we can set up and be ready to play with the minimum of intrusion on your event - this is particularly important when guests and clients are already present or for example, when a wedding and reception are taking place in the same venue.

Help & Advice: For most people hiring a band is an unusual and novel thing to be doing if not a little bewildering! We can help and advise you on the usual arrangements for certain types of events such as weddings and dances and make suggestions on how to get the most out of us and your occasion.
